Should I buy an ID Sign with my Fire Extinguisher?

Fire Extinguisher identification signs are often overlooked when purchasing fire extinguishers. They are actually a requirement of the British standard for businesses and organisations. We would always recommend purchasing ID signs with your extinguisher, whether for domestic or commercial settings.

They are small, easy to install, low cost but critically, in an emergency situation, where panic can often set in, they give clear guidance on what type of fire the extinguisher installed is suitable and safe to discharge on. Our ID signs are also Photoluminescent (which in plain English means they glow in the dark!).

We have an ID sign for every extinguisher or fire blanket. We would recommend sighting them just above wherever the extinguisher is mounted. A simple way to attach them is just to use some strong adhesive but equally they can also be screwed in.
